Definition of Class

Assistant:

This position develops and executes marketing plans for athletics' products and teams. This position coordinates communication through social media and traditional media as well as oversees game day staff; manages advertising and promotion budgets; and manages marketing content for website and social media.

 

Associate:

This position oversees and directs marketing plans for Athletics products and teams. The incumbent manages communication through social media and traditional media and oversees game day staff and spirit squad programs.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Develops and executes marketing plans for sports.
  • Researches target audiences and develops strategies for each product or sport.
  • Serves as a liaison with rights holder for sponsorship activation.
  • Assists in developing sales plans for tickets and fundraising.
  • Oversees in-venue video board content strategy and execution.
  • Oversees spirit squad programs which include cheer, dance and mascot, and generates interest and awareness of the squads.
  • Assists in the recruitment of the cheer and dance squads.
  • Directs marketing communications team and game day staff.
  • Coordinates game day activities for sporting events, as well as, game day experience for fans including championship events.
  • Monitors game day experience and provides feedback for enhancements.
  • Manages advertising and promotions budgets.
  • Analyzes revenue and Fan Experience data and presents findings to senior leadership team.
  • Directs script writing for each sporting event.
  • Serves as a day-to-day liaison with concessionaire.
  • Manages marketing content and messaging for the website and social media.
  • Manages creative team to develop digital graphics for website.
  • Oversees the online amplification of produced creative material.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Essential Functions

1. Supervises the development and execution of marketing plans for athletics' products and teams.
2. Oversees marketing communications team and game day staff
3. Manages marketing content and messaging for the website and social media

 

Associate:

  1. Develops and executes marketing plans for sports.
  2. Oversees spirit squad programs.
  3. Directs marketing communications team and game day staff.
  4. Manages marketing content and messaging for the website and social media.
Minimum Education/Experience

Assistant:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Experience: Two (2) years experience in Athletic Administration or related field.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.

 

Associate:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
