As a Scribe, you will provide accurate documentation and summarization of the examination and plan, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status. Job duties include, but are not limited to updating medical history, medications and ocular history and documenting complaints. Responsibilities:Essential Skills and Abilities:
- List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
- Scribe 90% of the time
- Document procedures performed by the physician
- Serve as liaison between the physician, patient and staff
- Provide unparalleled customer service to our patients
- Adhere to established protocols and work processes
- Successfully manage volume without compromising quality
- Enter timely, as dictated by physician, accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter
- Knowledge of medical, medication and ophthalmic terminology
- Completion of preoperative paperwork
- Bilingual required
- Prior scribing and or ophthalmology teaching experience preferred
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of experience in ophthalmology or optometry
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills
- Knowledge of medication terminology and CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Be a team player and maintain a professional attitude with typical job stress and have a flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving and fast paced work environment
