Your role at Tumi:

The Assistant Buyer is a passionate product oriented and analytical individual who will be a key driver of the North America Omni Channel Women's business. This includes responsibility for both full price and outlet stores as well as the e-commerce site. The Women's Category is a trending department in the Tumi portfolio and focus for significant growth. This person will partner with the Lead Merchant in building and executing a unique product strategy that aligns with brand messaging and achieves financial goals.
  • Supports the Women's Omni Merchant in developing the regional merchandise mix to ensure all North America DTC Channels including stores and ecommerce, have the right products, in the right place at the right time, to build the long-term brand strategy.
  • Optimize the Women's category based on business strategies, historical analytical data, seasonal concepts, and trends to build strong assortments that maximize sales and gross margin.
  • Partner with the planning team on day-to-day basis to develop and execute seasonal plans; merchandising financial strategies, key promotional offers, and end of life strategies across Omni Channel Business.
  • Recap and analyze weekly sales.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for driving improved performance across Omni Channel Business and limit risk in season.
  • Support category by analyzing KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, and seasonal basis.
  • Hindsight the business to extract future product needs and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Establish strong working relationships with Product Management, Ecommerce, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Store Design, Retail Stores and Operations.
  • Collaborate with Visual on seasonal collection flow ensuring product is merchandised to maximize brand focus and storytelling moments, collaborate on Window Rotations, Front Table changes and overall presentation in stores.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of fleet, and identify opportunities to drive location sales via store visits, online research, and consumer insights.
  • Research competitive industry data to explain current business and anticipate new trends.

We're Excited if you have:
  • 2 years of experience in Retail Buying Office or Merchandising Department Vertical experience preferred.
  • Experience in Women's Handbags and Accessories a strong preference.
  • Confidence in articulating strategies with clear verbal and written communication.
  • Highly proficient at multi-tasking; ability to shift between various tasks and responsibilities quickly.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel Skills and Microsoft Suite including experience creating charts, graphs, and presentations.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree
