Assistant Night Manager

The Assistant Night Manager will oversee the operations of the store during the night shift. They will be responsible for ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently and that customer service standards are maintained. The Night Manager will also be responsible for managing the night shift employees.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform duties and responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence or at their discretion
• Manage and oversee all aspects of the convenience store during the night shift
• Train and manage night shift employees, ensuring that they are following company policies and procedures
• Writes schedules and manages daily labor based on anticipated volume
• Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees
• Complete nightly paperwork, including cash handling and inventory counts
• Develops and sustains a work culture that supports employee retention and talent development efforts, optimizing team effectiveness through continuous improvement and employee excellence strategies
• Exhibits and applies proactive management and leadership skills to support employees and operations
• Provides timely and appropriate responses to damage claims and incident reporting
• Maintains consistent and appropriate vendor relations, takes and reports weekly and monthly inventory, and places weekly orders
• Maintains facility ensuring everything runs properly, and preventative maintenance is complete, and submits help desk tickets when equipment malfunctions
• Implements and adheres to company safety and compliance requirements and leads required daily and monthly safety training
• Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
• Assists with all store functions as needed and completes other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Proven management experience
• Must be self-motivated and have the drive to achieve results
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle and count money
• Integrity and honesty
• Ability to manage a diverse staff in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Effective communication and conflict management skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Reliable, proactive, and a problem solver
• Must have a valid LA Driver's License and reliable transportation to multiple locations in the Baton Rouge area

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 per hour
