South Colony Place Apartments is seeking to fill the Assistant Community Manager position at its beautiful location in Saginaw, MI. This is an established 100% Section 8 apartment community for families and seniors. South Colony I is a 9-story high rise, consisting of 200 1 and 2-bedroom senior apartments. South Colony II consists of 16 smaller buildings, 98 units, both apartments and townhouses. The Assistant Community Manager will work closely with the Community Manager to oversee a 9-person staff, along with day-to-day operations of the property and a demanding Section 8 compliance program. They will be involved in all aspects of the management of the community including processing Section 8 applications, submitting Special Claims requests, providing leasing and marketing support, rent collection, processing move-ins and move-outs, entering service requests, preparing reports, and other related tasks as assigned.
The current Community Manager will be retiring at the end of 2024 – so this is a great opportunity for someone who is ready for a challenge and looking to make significant advancements in their career in the coming years. Our perfect candidate is someone with property management, customer service, and administrative experience, and has a passion for working with seniors. Section 8 experience is highly preferred, but not required, if you are ready and willing to learn. Salary range: $23-25 with the possibility of a significant increase if promoted to Community Manager in January 2025
