Launched summer of 2021, Amparo is a new managing general agency (MGA) to the MA market and is poised for significant growth over the next few years, affording unique opportunities for career advancement spanning the range of insurance disciplines (e.g., sales, claims, underwriting).
Your Title:Assistant Manager, Operations/Underwriting
Our/Your Location: Remote - Anywhere within the USA
Your hours: Monday – Friday 8 hours/day
Compensation: $60K - $75K
You Report To: Manager - Operations/Underwriting
Amparo is looking for a positive and professional Assistant Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll get to impact the business by driving results aligned with stated goals for performance metrics, telephony metrics, utilization, productivity, attendance, and attrition. You’ll work closely with members of all functioning departments and outside vendors. Your main responsibility will be to support the Manager of Operations with day-to-day tasks and projects. What you will do:
Your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with all aspects of day-to-day middle office operations
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to monitor inventory and increase productivity
- Serve as a subject matter expert for questions related to the company’s processes and procedures
- Managing resolution of operational issues as well as de-escalating customer problems
- Identifying and driving process improvements, innovative solutions and strategic initiatives
- Regularly assess employee skills and performance with timely feedback and coaching activities
- Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with outside vendors
- Monitoring delinquent payments and process notices of cancellation when applicable
- Provide underwriting support on daily submissions when applicable
- Monitor adherence to procedures including systems usage
- Host regular training sessions to new and existing agents
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring
- Property & Casualty Insurance experience required (minimum 2 years work experience or other qualified Insurance education)
- Bachelor/Associates degree required
- Portuguese/Spanish Speaking proficiency preferred
- Advanced knowledge of all personal lines insurance policies
- Strong work ethic, honesty and integrity, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Demonstrates strong ability to build relationships within a team setting
- The ability to use computer software programs designed for insurance companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
