About the Role:
- Manage departmental teams directly and/or through the assigned supervisors, as well as clerical office staff for the assigned functional area (ex: Receiving, Replenishment, Picking, Packing, Shipping) in order to delivery required services and outputs.
- Review workload or demand forecast to identify peak periods; manage workforce to accommodate.
- Clearly communicate daily department needs/instructions to employees; adapt as necessary to changing priorities.
- Monitor productivity; produce and distribute related KPI reporting.
- Work with Sr. DC Management and/or Brands to resolve problems and/or priorities affecting the assigned functional area.
- Identify and implement new operational and management systems, processes, and best practices as need to adjust to new Brand requirements, volume growth, and/or technology changes.
- Identify and resolve training requirements for department team members.
- Assist in the hiring process as needed.
- Purchase and manage inventory of any needed materials.
- Inspect equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition; contact Maintenance with any issues.
- Assist as needed with labor and related expense budgets developing Manage budgets and forecasts.
- Enforce company policies and safety procedures.
- Review and manage department performance, including attendance and productivity; include supervisors where applicable.
- Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 lbs frequently.
- Bending/stooping/kneeling required frequently.
- Routine standing of approximately _8_ hrs. per day.
- Associate or bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Desirable: Certified to operate warehouse equipment. (Forklifts, Jacks, Cherry Pickers, etc.)
- Generally, 5+ years of relevant work experience in Distribution or Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, ERPs, Parcel Shipping or inventory management software.
- Familiarity with at least one key fulfillment function: Receiving, Stocking, Replenishment, Picking, Packing, and/or Shipping.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Able to work with all levels of staff.
- Detail oriented, well organized, excels in communication, listens and gets clarification.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
- Observes safety procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, uses equipment and material properly.
