Requirements: The Assistant Manager position is a full-time hourly management position based on a either a 40- or 50-hour work week plus tips.
Basic Functions: Assists the General Manager (GM) in all aspects of daily restaurants operations with concentration on Front of House staff (Servers, Host and Bartenders). The Assistant Manager will focus on bar cleanliness and organization. Responsible for assisting in hiring quality personnel who demonstrate and ensure customer satisfaction. Communicate and educate staff regarding food, beer, wine, and spirits and monitor all aspects of training for Front of house staff. Works with GM along with kitchen manager to successfully reach established store goals. Assist the GM in meeting deadlines and complete tasks assigned by the Regional Management team. Responsible to meet cost control budgets (food/beverage, labor, and supplies) and maintain accurate inventories. Work with GM to enforce company rules and policies established in the employee handbook. Be actively involved in daily restaurant operations. Always maintain a professional demeanor.
Specific Duties:
- Be aware of special events that may affect store
- Have knowledge of Monthly/Weekend Specials (posters/inserts/POS buttons)
- Accomplish specific goals for store with colleagues, and staff
- Assist in training and development of service staff with approved training materials
- Maintain cleanliness of restaurant (Bar, bar walk-in, and dining room host areas)
- Assist in monitoring kitchen cleanliness
- Bring sales/trends/patterns to GM's attention
- Assist with managing budgets. Work with management team to fix issues
- Contact outside beverage representatives for store beverage ordering
- Facilitate bar/beverage invoicing, receiving, and ordering
- Assist in staff reviews
- Maintain ordering pars for dining room and bar per the GM's instruction
- Assist with weekly schedules for FOH/BOH staff when needed
- Maintain that all steps of service are followed
- Handle any/all guest complaints during service
- Ensure that opening/closing procedures for Front of House and Back Of House are completed daily
- Assist with disciplinary action as needed and uphold Melt's Policies and Procedures
- Follow established cash handling procedures
- Follow procedures to maintain safety and security of employees and guests
Requirements:
- 3-5 years Restaurant Manager experience
