Assistant Manager - Guest Services (Rail Division)

Our Anchorage Rail team is looking for a year-round Assistant Manager of Guest Services. You will supervise a seasonal Guest Services team and operations across multiple communities in Alaska.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in managing guest service staff and activities to meet guests' satisfaction.
- Supervises Guest Service activities including communication, rail manifests, sales and guest satisfaction.
- Supports and manages employees with responsibilities at the rail depot, luggage, mobility and transfers.
- Applies knowledge of company products, policies and procedures and customer service including all health and safety policies.
- Monitors and tracks retail sales; recommends strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction; implements approved plans.
- Processes financial transactions and reports.
- Performs "Manager on Duty" responsibilities.
- Participates in interviewing, selection and training of all rail employees.
- Responsible for the supervision, performance management, salary administration, and coaching of directly assigned personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in Guest Services equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience, may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- This job normally requires three years of progressively responsible positions in hotel front desk management.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is required.
- Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management and customers.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check which will include a credit check.

- Must be eligible to work in the United States. HAP is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of Excel, Power Point and Word.
- The ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.
- The ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- You must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
- Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
