Under limited supervision, oversees the daily operations of the department’s public assembly venues. Coordinates sales and special events. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate personnel. Reports to the Events and Venues Manager.
Essential Functions:
Assists in managing all aspects and/or activities for large, public assembly event operations.
Attends all City of Kissimmee events.
Coordinates and supervises activities at multiple facilities and surrounding properties.
Assists in development of programs, operations, and events.
Assists with Operating and Capital budgets.
Develops partnerships with schools, businesses and community organizations.
Evaluates and monitors staff day to day activities including staff schedules and project/event progress.
Evaluates and reviews essential documents and agreements including event quotes, applications, and license agreements.
Reviews and coordinates work of subordinates.
Requires working nights, weekends, and holidays as well as non-traditional hours.

Minimum Education and Training
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Facility and Event Management or related field supplemented by three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be certified in CPR/First Aid. Must have forklift certification. Must possess and maintain a valid state of Florida driver’s license. Must possess or obtain the most current FEMA 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 Incident Command System certifications within 12 months of appointment to the job.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a computer, basic office equipment, telephone, sound equipment, etc. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant, physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds) to heavy weight (up to 50 pounds). Position requires working in fast paced, ever changing environments. This includes working in both indoor and outdoor spaces, inclement weather, and heat.
