Job Description
Managers often exemplify a few characteristics; they are energetic, enthusiastic, and have the ability to lead people. They must love working with people and dogs. They will assist the General Manager in day-to-day operations, while also overseeing employees in all aspects of the resort. They need to have the ability to fill in wherever they are needed at any given time, in addition to possessing strong customer service skills. Previous experience is preferred; however, it is not required. Some weekend and holiday hours are required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Carries out and attains the mission and goals of the business.
- Assure all guests are cared for in compliance with the company goals.
- Maintain a strong resort culture and lead by following Company Values and Mission.
- Health and safety of the workforce.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegates responsibilities and expect accountability and feedback.
- Monitor/measure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the staff is always in proper uniform.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Responsible for assisting the GM/Owner in the running of the business.
- Assists the GM/Owner with hiring staff for the resort.
- Supervises all Front-End Staff and Back-End Staff when acting as Manager on Duty.
- Opens/Closes building.
- Has the ability to complete any job requirement of any staff member except the owner.
- Always monitoring staff in every task and interaction to ensure 100% compliance with Operations Manual; retrain any discrepancies large or small.
Front-End specific Job Functions:
- Front-end tasks should be completed when the lobby is slower (i.e. 10 am-3 pm).
- Scheduling of all Front-End staff.
- Inventory management of front-end specific supplies.
- Provides continuing education for front-end staff.
- Greets all customers coming into the building.
- Check-In / Check-Out procedures in the point of sale system.
- Accepts payment from customers.
- Answers telephone inquiries.
- Provides tours of the building to potential customers.
- Develops pet feeding/medication schedules.
- Feeds/medicates dogs when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Back-End specific Job Functions:
- Back-end tasks should be completed when the lobby is slower (i.e. 10 am-3 pm). Back-end focused Assistant Managers should maintain an 80/20 split of their time, with the majority of the time being customer-facing.
- Scheduling of all Back-End staff.
- Inventory management of back-end specific supplies.
- Provides continuing education for back-end staff.
- Oversees all disinfecting, bathing, and daycare procedures.
- Prioritize and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly duties of Pet Care Technicians and ensure adherence to rules and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Must wear the front-end uniform unless specifically scheduled to work in the back for their shift.
