Planet Fitness is looking for talented Assistant Managers. This role requires oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience as well as a financially successful club. The AssistantManager will be accountable for leading a team with a focus to establish a fun yet competitive culture, positive member experiences, drive sales and revenues and contributes to profitability. The Assistant Manager reports directly to the General Manager.
Assistant Manager Job Requirements:
- Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching, ensuring adherence to PF’s values and goals.
- Assist with organizing weekly schedules for team members.
- Monitoring attendance, tardiness, and time off
- Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills
- Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary
- Observe performance and share feedback with your General Manager, upper management,
and team members. Assist in performance improvement process.
- Assist with new employee onboarding and coaching current team member tasks
- Provide excellent customer service and hospitality to our members
- Adhering to company policies and health, safety and employment standards
- Adhere to policy and procedures related to member interactions always protecting sensitive
information.
- Maintain club cleanliness and ensure all aspects of the club are in like new condition.
- Drive sales and member experience metrics.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of the club to ensure PF standards are being met or exceeded.
- Ensure prompt opening / closing of the gym.
- Coach team members on exceptional hospitality at the front desk
- Resolve member concerns and address billing issues upon check-in.
- Determine and communicate equipment repair in Fitness EMS in a timely manner.
- Manage marketing efforts by ensuring that staff is aware and trained on all marketing promotions.
- Ensure nightly closing paperwork is correct and communicated.
- Provide leadership within a team to achieve club goals.
- Determining and improving weak areas of the club.
- Communicate with overnight cleaning team and expect to do overnight inspections from time to time

Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required
-1-2 years prior supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of training, recruiting and hiring high performing staff is preferred
- CPR certification preferred.
- Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shifts.
- Must successfully pass background check after offer of employment in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
