The Assistant Librarian, under the direction of the University Librarian, is responsible for the daily operation, organization, administration, general effectiveness, and supervision of the Learning Resource Center.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the daily operations of the Learning Resource Center.
- Assist students in using library resources to conduct research.
- Assist the University Librarian on with researching and implementing learning technologies in the Learning Resource Centers, including computer software and online library resources.
- Provide embedded information literacy instruction for academic departments.
- Work collaboratively with the college's faculty, staff, and students to improve the academic environment.
- Assist the University Librarian in maintaining and developing the electronic and print resources of the library's collection.
Qualifications:
- Interest in/knowledge of nursing and allied health fields.
- Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from an American Library Association-accredited program.
- One year of experience in a library environment.
- Experience providing reference and information services, both in-person and online.
- Experience with APA formatting and citation style.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and other computer technologies.
- Dedicated team player and collaborator with qualities of self-direction, vision, creativity, collegiality, and leadership.
- Knowledge of current and emerging library technology systems.
- Experience providing library/information literacy instruction.
- Experience working with Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
- $24-$26/hr. Salary depends on experience and education.
