EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Education and/or Business Administration
- Five years’ experience in School Administration
- Demonstrated history of effective leadership of a Christian school.
- Proven record of quickly assimilating into new environments, identifying areas for improvement and affecting change, while cultivating positive relationships.
- As a committed Christian, maintains a vibrant relationship with God and fully agrees with and embraces the Morning Star Academy statement of faith.
- Demonstrates a love of and dedication to the advancement of Christian education.
- Has a love for learning and possesses a growth mindset and eagerness to explore new ideas and approaches.
- Must have a servant leadership management style. Humbly leading with transparency and gladly accepts the appropriate level of accountability. Welcomes and positively acts upon constructive feedback.
- Maintains high standards of excellence in all work and takes responsibility for outcomes.
- Possesses strong and compelling written and verbal communication skills.
- Is a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive plans.
In coordination with the Head of School and Admissions Coordinator, the Assistant Head of School/Advancement Director is tasked with recruiting missionally aligned families, staff, volunteers, and board members. This individual:
- Develops a strategic marketing plan.
- Maintains the school’s presence in the media—including but not limited to social media.
- Maintains the school’s presence in the community.
- Plans and optimizes the school’s fundraising programs such as the annual operating fund, capital campaigns, planned giving, and major events.
- Supervises the school’s development efforts in identifying, cultivating, thanking, and communicating with past, current and prospective donors and alumni.
- Supervises all volunteer efforts.
- Organizes the student activities and extracurricular activities (volunteerism, community benevolent outreach, etc.).
- Administers the school’s discipline policies and standard of conduct.
- Supervises the school’s support systems, such as, before-and-after school programs, summer programs, etc.
- Oversees the school’s safety programs including building security, emergency procedures, transportation regulations, tornado and fire drills, etc.
- Optimizes all-school gatherings including assemblies, chapel, performances, etc.
- Coordinates efforts for outreach in the community
- Oversees the maintenance, custodian, and landscape services of the buildings, grounds, and buses.
- Assists the Head of School in planning, scheduling, and executing all major capital purchases, repairs, and building projects.
