JOB TITLE: Assistant Gymnastics Director
DEPARTMENT: Sports and Camps
REPORTS TO: Gymnastics Director
JOB SUMMARY: Assists Director with Managing Gymnastics Program
DESCRIPTION:
Assist the Gymnastics Director with management of the gymnastics program. Must have experience managing staff, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be a team-player. Experience in youth sports and/or program management required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with Director to schedule and coordinate gymnastics classes, class lesson plans, and curriculum cards
- Serve as a liaison between coaches and Gymnastics Director
- Train new gymnastics instructors as assigned
- Convey information about gymnastics programs and schedules to participants
- Collaborate with Gymnastics Director on creation of new programs; partner with Marketing Department to advertise new programs
- Administrative and office management tasks as assigned by Director
- Required coaching hours: preschool, recreational classes and team
- Instruct class lessons as assigned in accordance with MJCCA guidelines
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, events, reviews and competitions as scheduled
- Maintain Gymnastics office and class records in an orderly and efficient manner
- During Summer Camp, functions include, but are not limited to: administrative tasks such as printing rosters and medical charts, organize groups, train staff, and working with Director to ensure other summer tasks are completed efficiently
- Coordinate summer classes and associated staff assignments
- Fulfill any functions designated by the Gymnastics Director for the betterment of the program and the ability of the MJCCA to meet its mission
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and handle significant workloads
- Respond effectively and timely to all emails and phone calls
- Strong attention to detail
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with athletes, families, and colleagues
- Follow all MJCCA emergency and safety procedures
- Complete incident and injury reports as necessary
- Uphold all MJCCA policies, procedures, standards and Code of Conduct
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- In lieu of a degree, experience in program management
- Gymnastics team coaching experience
- Computer literacy required. Familiarity with web-based programs and Microsoft Office systems.
- Experience in facilitating gymnastics and/or youth sports programs
Certifications:
- USA Gymnastics Safety Certification (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
- CPR Certification (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
- USA Gymnastics University Certification (or willing to acquire within first 3 months)

JOB TYPE: Full-time. Includes evenings and weekends as needed.
PAY: Salary-based. Commensurate with experience.
