Assistant Guest Services Supervisor

The Guest Services Supervisor will assist the Guest Services Supervisor in managing and overseeing the daily operation of all front line facilities including admission, gift shop, train, carousel, guest relations, and member services at the Zoo and Ice Arena to provide an exceptional guest experience. Supervises Guest Services staff as needed. Will work in partnership with colleagues and develop strong working relationships throughout the Zoo.

Duties and Responsibilities:

¨ Zoo

¨ Assists in managing all aspects of Guest Services

¨ Assists with counting banks daily, completing daily reports for accounting. Verifies money received and prepares daily deposits.

¨ Assists in receiving and unloading trucks, conducting inventory, entering product information, and stocking all merchandise for the gift shop.

¨ Assists with concessionaires/food trucks as needed

¨ Remains up to date on computer program for admission, gift shop, membership, groups and assists in training staff on the program

¨ Assists in seasonal start up and close down of the gift shop and admission gates

¨ Assists with maintaining order and cleanliness of gift shop, admission areas, and storage room

¨ Opening and closing of cash registers

¨ Assists with creating, planning, and preparations for special events

¨ Schedules staff for Guest Services department

¨ Monitors the timekeeping system for Guest Services department

¨ Assists with grounds cleaning as needed

¨ Assists in the front office as needed

¨ Maintains food service safety certification

¨ Other duties as assigned

¨ Normal schedule: March-October Tues-Sat 8am-5pm, may vary due to special events & inventory

¨ Rink

¨ Assists with scheduling, supervising, training, and verifying time cards for Guest Service and Zamboni drivers at the ice Arena

¨ Schedules ice time and tournaments for groups

¨ Opening and closing of cash registers

¨ Assists with filling all vending machines at rink, pull and count money from vending machines weekly

¨ Assists with counting cash drawers and deposits for the rink

¨ Assists with concessionaires

¨ Assists with events at the rink year round

¨ Normal schedule: November-February Tues-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri & Sat 2pm-11pm, may vary due to special events and tournaments

Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, works favorably with all levels within the organization, takes initiative, organized and effectively presents ideas and concepts in a timely manner. Adheres to the highest ethical standards, viewed as trustworthy and credible by colleagues as well as by external constituents.

Qualifications: High School diploma and previous supervisory work experience in customer service/retail needed. Proficient with Microsoft Office products Must obtain food safety certification. Must have valid drivers license.

Work Environment: March- October in gift shop/admission gate, office or outside on Zoo grounds. November-February in the ice rink building with temps at 35-40.
