Overview

The Assistant Group Leader will support and assist staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for after school enrichment and recreational activities delivered both in-person and virtually.
 
REPORTS TO: SR. PROGRAM DIRECTOR, MICCIO CORNERSTONE
LOCATION: 110 West 9th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11231
HOURS: Up to 18 Hours per Week; Non-Exempt
SALARY: $15.00/Hr.

Major Duties:

  • Assist the Group Leader and Activity Instructors with activities, including sports, movement, and recreation, educational activities and arts and craft in person and virtually.
  • Collaborate with Group leader to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collect attendance folder and other data.
  • Work with After School Program Director, Group Leader, or other designated Supervisor in carrying out special activities of the program.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with peers and participants.
  • Demonstrated verbal, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Capability to transition easily between working independently with a high degree of self-initiative and working as part of a team.
  • Complete required DOE & DOH clearances.
