Escondido Golf & Lake Club is a private country club located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas less than an hour from Austin, Texas. Established in 2006, Escondido is an exclusive high-end property with two amazing shops that each offer a unique shopping experience.
About the Position:
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is focused on a career in the retail industry, not just golf but also in high-end lifestyle apparel and gifts/accessories. This is a full-time position where the individual will work hand in hand with our Golf Shop Manager / Buyer and Professional Staff to provide first class service and continue to provide an exceptional shopping experience for the members and guests of Escondido.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to anticipate the needs of the members and guests are key attributes for this position. Candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate should have a working knowledge in the latest men’s and women’s fashions and have an artistic mind for creating visually appealing merchandise displays.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist the Golf Shop Manager/Buyer with an Open-to-Buy plan by season.
Assist with meeting with vendors to view upcoming lines and maintain excellent vendor relations.
Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and reporting fill-in merchandise orders in a timely manner.
Oversee the merchandising to maintain an attractive shop with visually appealing merchandise displays to maximize sales.
Manage all aspects of the Golf Shop Social Media platforms.
Attend annual PGA show and other applicable buying shows to ensure the latest and most desirable fashion lines and trends are being offered.
Facilitate and operate monthly inventories with assistance from professional staff.
Develop creative sales and promotional concepts such as trunk shows, and holiday promotions, etc.
Develop relationships and rapport with members by being on the floor and assisting with their needs.
Have a working knowledge of operations rules and procedures (i.e. tee times, pace of play, etc.).
Assist Buyer with processing invoices and placing special orders when needed.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree, and a bonus if degree is in Merchandising/Retailing (PGA Members are encouraged to apply)
2-3 years retail experience preferred, with experience in merchandising or in a retail store. Club is open to applicants with less experience and desire to grow professionally.
Must have an outgoing, personable, and friendly personality.
Golf background and knowledge helpful for this position.
Compensation & Benefits:
$20/hr.
40 hours/week in season and 32-40 hours/week in off-season
