Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant General Manager to join our team at Cantina Pedregal. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for hospitality, strong organizational skills, and a proactive attitude. As the Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, uphold quality standards, and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in managing all aspects of restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Supervise and support front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and adherence to quality and cleanliness standards.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service and maximize performance.
- Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor and analyze sales, labor, and expense reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing waste and loss.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations to provide a safe and clean dining environment for guests and staff.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute marketing and promotional initiatives to drive sales and increase revenue.
- Support the General Manager in administrative tasks, such as payroll processing, budgeting, and reporting.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within the restaurant industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food and beverage service, inventory management, and customer relations.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- California RBS (TiPS) certification
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
