Description:
As Assistant Football Coach the range of responsibilities, which can include:
Plan coaching and practice sessions in accordance with LHSAA and NFHS regulations.
Coach team members individually and in groups; and demonstrate game techniques. May manage a designated skill development area or group of positions (offense, defense, linebackers, quarterbacks, receivers, etc.)
Develop and recommend game strategy and position assignments.
Monitor the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies, including accountability for expense control and administration of the sport’s budget.
Coordinate with the Athletic Business Office the planning of recruiting and team travel.
Participate in the selection and fitting of team equipment.
Promote the athletic program and specific sport through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.
Ensure adherence to all LHSAA rules by athletes and supporting staff.

Requirements:
Education: The head Football Coach must have a bachelor’s degree in physical education, kinesiology or another related field. A master’s degree in education is preferred.
Training & Experience: coaches should have a minimum of 2-3 years of coaching experience. They may have served as an assistant coach for several years before being promoted to a head coaching position. They may also have served as a player or a member of a coaching staff.
Must have a certification or be able to be certified in the State of Louisiana.
