The Fredericksburg District Equipment Section is seeking a Fleet Administrator Supervisor to serve as the Operations Manager for the district-wide equipment program; responsible for band disposal of rental and non-rental equipment. This position will supervise, guide and coach staff, resolve technical and administrative problems; develop district equipment policies and procedures and oversee processes to meet end user equipment needs through acquisition and, or rental and leasing contracts. Manages staffing levels and assignments, productivity monitoring and workload planning.
Required skills for job & position:
• Knowledge of equipment repair practices
• Ability to gather and analyze data and create reports
• Knowledge of equipment procurement and inventory procedures and practices
• Ability to develop and manage budgets
• Considerable knowledge of the functional requirements and capabilities of various types of heavy duty and repair shop equipment
• Skill in the use of computers and software applications
• Ability to understand and interpret equipment specifications and the relevance of individual equipment types for the overall fleet
• Ability to assess staffing needs
• Knowledge of equipment safety and accident prevention strategies
• Ability to supervise staff, programs and budgets
• Ability to analyze the effectiveness of shop operations; to analyze problems and provide solutions
Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to understand, interpret equipment specifications and the relevance of individual equipment types for the overall fleet
• Knowledge of equipment repair practices
• Knowledge of equipment procurement and inventory procedures and practices
• Skill in the use of computers and software applications
• Knowledge of equipment safety and accident prevention strategies
• Ability to supervise staff, programs and budgets
• Considerable knowledge of the functional requirements, capabilities of various types of heavy duty and repair shop equipment
• Ability to gather, analyze data and create reports
• Ability to analyze the effectiveness of shop operations
Additional Considerations
• A combination of training, experience, or education in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field desired
• Experience developing equipment specifications and overseeing equipment rental and leasing contracts
• Certified Professional Fleet Manager desired
• Experience in fleet management and equipment operations, as well as supervision of staff and programs

This position is designated as essential to emergency operations and may be required to work outside of normal work hours, on weekends and holidays during emergency situations which may include but are not limited to inclement weather, disaster response and emergency operations to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
