Assistant Director of Nursing $45-$55/hour

One Kalakaua Senior Living is seeking for a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position for home care in an assisted living/retirement community. The ADON's primary responsibility is to provide oversight to the non-licensed staff (CNA, NA, MT) and the Emergency Services Coordinator. The ADON is also responsible for oversight of pharmacy medication related services and related programs. Serves as the backup to the Director of Nursing (DON).

HOURS OF DUTY:
1. Normal Business Hours (schedules may vary); may require some weekends, nights and holidays.
2. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotations with the DON and RCS Clinic & Care Manager.
3. Must be flexible to cover Staff Nurse and Med Tech shifts when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current RN license registered in the State of Hawaii, CPR and First Aid certifications required. Must have at least 3 years of Nursing experience. Prior geriatric/rehabilitative experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.

SKILLS:
Must have good assessment and documentation skills and demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with elderly residents, family, visitors and co-workers. Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care. Ability to recognize and solve problems and make appropriate decisions. Demonstrates proper nursing skills/techniques and infection control measures.

REASONING ABILITY:
Normal mental and visual attention-to-detail abilities are required. Defines problems, collects data, asks pertinent questions, and establishes facts. Interprets a variety of information from diverse sources to effectively explain situations. Uses sound judgment and meets deadlines on own accord. Must analyze circumstances and facts in order to decide on methods and techniques required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching. Must be able to lift and transfer residents from bed to chair and chair to chair. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Manual coordination is required to operate computer. Continuous visual attention to detail required. Sitting 50% of the time.
