SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Catering will develop and implement efficient operational procedures to setup and execute the catering event services and operations at Gillette Stadium. This role will oversee the catering services for ticketed events, corporate, social and internal events and player dining under the guidance of the Senior Director of Premium Services Hospitality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the execution of the catering event services and operations of ticketed event day catering, corporate, social and internal catered events and team dining rooms.
  • Develop and strategize operational plans to ensure the successful catering operations for every Banquet Event.
  • Explore and create revenue generating and cost saving opportunities within the department.
  • Active and direct management of events and functions to ensure our standards of service and exceptional guest experience is achieved.
  • Develop and innovate around contemporary trends in service standards and presentation of Catering services and staff, elevating the guest experience; train staff on established service standards.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams in the delivery of services to include collaboration with the sales team, culinary, facilities and other key stakeholders.
  • Work in coordination with culinary department to ensure proper inventory, handling, storage, and use of all equipment. Maintaining equipment appearance, presentation, and functionality.
  • Ensure the highest food quality and sanitation standards at all times including function space cleanliness, facility safety and sanitation.
  • Assist HR with recruitment and hiring, responsible for training and development of hospitality and premium services food and beverage staff.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of Catering and Banquet Operations experience in a large upscale catering operation, premium hotel, or private company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experienced with Delphi/Sales Force events systems preferred.
  • Team building and leadership skills recruiting and managing a large diverse workforce.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Walking an average of 5 miles on event days.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Generally located at events with staff setting up, operating or breaking down functions
  • Event Venue, noise level in the work environment is typically loud on event days
  • Densely populated on event day and a very high volume of activity and physical activity.
  • Outdoor venue, cold in the winter and hot in the summer, work will be located inside and outside of the venue, thus work will be performed in outside elements.
