The Assistant Director of Alumni Communication & Digital Engagement (AC&DE), under the direction of the Director AC&DE, is responsible for establishing and expanding communications, Digital Engagement, creative services, and alumni benefits and services. The primary focus is on building Seton Hall's various digital platforms, evaluating their effectiveness, and growing our digital presence through podcasting, webinars, video platforms and social media profiles. The Asst Director will help develop marketing plans and be responsible for our Alumni social media channels including strategy, reporting, customer service, and benchmarking. Incumbent will implement creative services relative to communications and social media plans. Demonstrated strong skill level in pre-production, production and post-production of photo and video projects, as well as design and digital marketing. Must be able to recommend how to best highlight our alumni, families, and initiatives creatively while adapting to the video-driven world of emerging media. The position will be required to be on-site for alumni events to capture content for social media and will implement communications and social media plans in conjunction with the upcoming comprehensive campaign; assisting the Director on developing campaign marketing plans, including direct mail, emails, newsletters, collateral material, social media, event registrations, and web updates. As such, the incumbent must possess strong design and writing skills. A strong focus on career-oriented development and resources will be emphasized. This position requires the ability to understand and respond to the needs of Seton Hall alumni determining which programs and services they would find most beneficial.
The Asst Director will be involved in all aspects of Alumni Engagement, including communication, digital, experiential, leadership giving and volunteer engagement by working collaboratively in a fully integrated engagement team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Communication & Digital Engagement, prepare and disseminate communications and showcase digital media to alumni for various purposes, including social media, text, photo, long-form video stories, event recap footage, alumni video stories, comprehensive campaign promotional footage, email, the alumni website, philanthropic appeals, events, benefits, programs, and services. Integrate Alumni Communications with the upcoming comprehensive campaign communications. Maintain the social media marketing calendar and several Seton Hall Alumni social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Launch and develop additional social media channels as needed. Help build the Seton Hall, University Advancement and Campaign brand. Cross-market alumni benefits, services, events, solicitations, and programs across communication venues. (50 % of Time)
2. Oversee Digital Engagement initiatives such as ThankView. Create, film, direct, and edit content related to video marketing for solicitations, engagement, events, and social media. Utilize internally purchased equipment to execute these tasks. Set goals to increase engagement across all platforms utilizing video content. Co-host, produce, edit and promote the Pirate's Eye alumni podcast. Coordinate and host webinars on an as-needed basis to highlight alumni and topics that align with current initiatives. (30 % of Time)
3. Work collaboratively with University Advancement and campus partners, and as an integrated member of the Alumni Engagement & Philanthropy team. Participate in all aspects of alumni engagement, including philanthropy, communication, digital, experiential, leadership giving and volunteerism. Build mutually beneficial relationships that inspire loyalty and financial support, strengthen the institution's reputation, and involve alumni in meaningful activities to advance the institution's mission. (20% of Time)
