The Wesley Foundation is hiring for the position of Assistant Custodian in Residence. In this role, you will create an inviting and hospitable public community center by performing regular and on-demand custodial and maintenance activities, including securing the building every night and working weekend hours to clean before and after activities and setup rooms for meetings, weddings, and other activities.

Compensation: Use of a spacious two bedroom apartment, valued at $1,200-1,500, located at the heart of the University of Illinois campus is provided as in-kind compensation.

Hours: 20-25 hours per week, primarily on nights and weekends based upon needs. This position can be filled by two people who equitably share the hours and responsibilities in exchange for sharing the in-kind compensation.

The successful candidate will have:

• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of routine cleaning procedures and best practices.
• Ability to do heavy lifting (such as moving tables and furniture for room set-ups).
• Dependable and cooperative.
• Ability to relate well to the public and diverse populations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $1,400.00 per month

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
