Assistant Compliance Officer

We are currently seeking applicants for an Assistant Compliance Officer.
Qualified Candidates will be responsible for:
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC laws and regulations.
  • Perform duties associated with role as Assistant Bank Secrecy Act Officer (Responsible for policies and procedures, risk assessment, daily monitoring of high-risk accounts, analyzing high risk accounts and assessing risk level, reviewing CTRs and CIP forms from all branches, receiving and checking FinCen terrorist requests, SAR reports, reporting to the Board of Directors, etc.)
  • Collaborate with all departments on policies and procedures to ensure they are updated in accordance with regulations, legal requirements, and trends.
  • Assist in testing the effectiveness of the Bank’s policies, procedure, and overall adherence to the compliance management program.
  • Assist Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) with maintaining the established compliance monitoring program including CRA, Fair Lending, BSA, Regulation Z, X, DD, CC FCRA/Fact Act, UDAAP and other regulations.
  • Report compliance monitoring findings to the CCO to ensure that corrective action is taken for identified compliance concerns/issues.
  • Provide secondary support to the BSA Officer including reviewing applicable policies, procedures, risk assessments, daily monitoring of high-risk accounts, analyzing high risk accounts and assessing risk level, reviewing CTRs and CIP forms from all branches, receiving and checking FinCen terrorist requests and other BSA duties as requested. Conduct compliance training programs for bank staff.
  • Designated back up and support for the Bank’s BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Officer
  • Assist with day-to-day compliance/regulatory issues.
  • Answer incoming compliance questions from internal personnel of the bank in a timely manner.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned by the CCO.
Candidates must also have knowledge in:
  • Banking concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Deposit and lending compliance and how compliance regulations related to Bank’s policy and procedure.
  • Possess sound decision-making and understanding of risk.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in business or compliance/regulatory environment and job requirements.
  • Cross departmental lines o Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, coworkers, and customers.
  • Exercise time management and organizational skills
  • Organize activities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Make immediate, responsible decisions.
  • Maintain compliance within deposit and lending operations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Two years of lending and/or compliance lending experience in a community bank setting strongly preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail software, and use of the internet.
