Job Description
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager by overseeing the day-to-day administrative, operational, and sales functions of the retail branch.
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operations of a branch, including::
Operations:
- Train and manage teams to adhere to operational procedures - i.e., maintaining custody of vaults combinations, official checks, ATM Cards, petty cash; control and prepare bait listing, authorization limits and tellers set-up, suspense and deferred items, write-ups, and charge-offs
- Monitor controllable expense accounts (e.g., overtime)
- Be fully accountable for branch assessment results, audits (internal or external), and BSA efforts. Acta as primary escalation point for decisions and issues within branch
- Manage resource planning and recruitment
Sales Management:
- Support all sales activities for the branch, sourcing new client relationships and expanding existing client relationships by bringing the full suite of products to the client
- Execute/promote a sales and service culture with a sharp focus on providing clients with a best-in-class customer experience that leaves a mark of authenticity, warmth, competence, and simplicity
- Review reporting and provide consistent feedback to all employees on performance against sales targets
Best in Class Customer Experience:
- Mentor and coach branch staff on key values: professionalism, accountability, customer centricity and security
- Promote environment of ongoing customer feedback and continuous improvement
- Ensure teams address customer issues and concerns promptly
Risk Management:
- Be responsible for compliance functions including reconciliations, audits (internal/external), reporting, controls, records management, approvals, and opening/closing procedures, ensuring all security procedures are strictly adhered
- Ensure branch staff is educated on banking regulations and adheres to corresponding internal policies and procedures, including BSA / KYC policies & procedures, Consumer Financial Protection Act, Gramm Leach Bliley Act, etc.
- Serve as primary liaison with BSA team, proactively identifying unusual activity and leading inquiries and resolution
- Promote the branch's active involvement within the community and report all CRA related activities to appropriate unit
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
To be considered, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Two or more years of experience in Retail Branch operations, business development, sales, and managing employees, or equivalent related experience and training
- NMLS registration; Safe Act compliant
- Bilingual / Spanish
