Purple Donkey Human Rescue is a 501c3 in application. We operate on a 20-acre donated facility, as part of the family owned and operated Cypress Farm Registered Miniature Donkeys in Chester, SC. Our mission is to rescuing humans & animals through equine therapy, mentoring programs, & donkey rescue. Our farm offers a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with themselves, others, and the natural world through the healing power of the world’s second oldest domesticated animal, the humble donkey. We are currently offering employment opportunities, for Assistant Barn Managers and day to day operations both in animal care and farm & facility maintenance. We offer full and part time positions but require a minimum of 18 hours a week. As our programming expands we will be hosting events and serving our community through mentoring, and team building programs for youth and adults. We will be supporting the work of licensed therapists to serve our community through equine psychotherapy.

```Duties```
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the barn operations
- Coordinate and schedule daily tasks for barn staff
- Ensure the health and well-being of all animals on the farm, including equine and other livestock, any veterinary knowledge is a plus
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barn and surrounding areas
- May include performing regular maintenance and repairs on barn facilities and equipment
- Performing feeding, grooming, and exercising animals as needed with the Barn Manager or instead of the manager at least 2 days per week.
- Monitor and manage inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment with Lead Barn Manager
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for staff and animals
```Skills```
- Some experience with large animal care, particularly in equine management
- Experience with maintaining barn facilities
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and the ability to successfully interact with the public is a plus for at least one of the positions available
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
NOTE: We will be looking for one of our assistant managers to interact with visitors and volunteers. This job will involve assisting with events, training days and interacting wit the public.
