Duties:
- Roll and bake bagels daily according to recipes and standards
- Decorate pastries with precision and creativity
- Ensure proper food handling and storage practices to maintain food safety standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new pastry items and menu offerings
- Assist with catering orders and special events as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their pastry selections
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pastry production or a related role is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers
Skills:
- Restaurant experience: Familiarity with working in a restaurant or culinary environment.
- Food preparation: Knowledge of proper food preparation techniques, including measuring ingredients, mixing doughs, and baking.
- Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure safe handling of ingredients and finished products.
- Food production: Ability to produce high-quality pastries efficiently while maintaining consistency.
- Customer service: Strong customer service skills to provide friendly assistance to customers in selecting pastries.
- Cake decorating: Experience in cake decorating techniques, including icing, piping, and creating decorative elements.
- Culinary knowledge: Basic understanding of culinary techniques and ingredients to collaborate with the culinary team.
- Catering experience: Previous experience in catering or handling large orders is a plus.
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to maintain food safety standards.
