Performs a wide variety of office support and clerical duties and activities in support of the assigned department. Ability to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to changes in priorities and tasks as needed. Handles both Credit Card and Installment loan administrative functions. Reports directly to the Member Support Supervisor. This is an in-person role.
Essential Functions:
- Open and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail.
- Responsible for data entry/records: MAPs Programs/Settlements/Repo & Charge off Process.
- Review and prepare Right to Cure letters and Deficiency Balance letters.
- Research accounts to ensure lien is perfected and order titles when necessary.
- Prepare daily/monthly reporting.
- Submit helpdesk tickets for systemic issues.
- Responsible for collection follow-ups on open items.
- Research and offset accounts when appropriate.
- Prepare files for 3rd party post charge-off / legal actions.
- Maintain collection follow-up log and input notes into accounts.
- Assist with managing service request queues for department.
- Responsible for updates to departmental procedures.
- Load auto dialer for both IL and Credit Card team daily.
- Assign accounts to repossession and remarketing companies, as necessary.
- Responsible for monitoring the repo portfolio and legal accounts.
- Processes loan modifications and loan payment extensions.
- Assist with gathering documentation to file insurance claims.
- Review and respond/process credit bureau disputes.
- Review and approve total loss insurance settlements.
- Makes recommendations for policy changes to the Member Support Manager/Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with little supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- General knowledge of personal computers and most common office software programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of automated dialer operations.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with external sources.
- Must be self-motivated and have excellent communication, training, coaching and developmental skills
- Ability to manage performance and expectations across teams
- Ability to adhere to established policies, procedures, and laws when performing collection activities.
- Ensure compliance with all Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and U.S. Bankruptcy laws
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or 66 college hours in business, finance, accounting or related field required with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline preferred.
- Five (5) plus years' collection experience in installment loans and credit card.
- One (1) or more banking experience on Farm Bureau Bank Member Support Team.
