Deters, detects and apprehends thoseindividuals committing thefts or other crimes against the Company at store level. Assists in other areas relatedto Loss Prevention as required by their Loss Prevention Manager. Provides a safe and secure storeenvironment for the Company’s customers, associates, and vendors.Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities Monitors the checkout area of the store for consumer fraud, associate dishonesty and compliancewith proper cash handling and cash register policies and procedures Follows up on front-end exception report transactions as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager Observes customers throughout the store to monitor shrink control, safety and customer service Apprehends shoplifters in accordance with state and local laws and company policy Cooperates with and responds to requests by police departments, courts and other public agenciesunder the direction of Loss Prevention and/or Corporate Council Monitors the receiving area of the store and conducts delivery audits to detect vendor fraud, associatedishonesty and compliance with proper receiving policies and procedures Assists management in the performance of loss prevention related inspections Responds to Electronic Article Surveillance alarms Maintains the equipment related to loss prevention and physical security (e.g. the CCTV equipment,which is located in the ceilings and throughout the store, the electronic article surveillance equipmentlocated at the entry/exits and check stands, and the store’s intrusion alarm system) Conducts store inspections/audits ensuring compliance to all policies related to shrink control andphysical security Documents all violations and advises store management and the Loss Prevention Manager Conducts internal and vendor investigations at the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager Participates in the store’s Safety Committee Reports all incidents of unsafe associate conduct to store management and the Loss PreventionManager Reports all unsafe conditions to store management and the Loss Prevention Manager and takesimmediate remedial action whenever an eminent safety hazard is present Reports any deficiencies in basic food safety standards to store management and the Loss PreventionManager and takes immediate remedial action whenever freshness or quality standards are not met Communicates with Management on all loss prevention issues Trains associates on loss prevention programs or policies as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager Develops trust, credibility and rapport with store management and store associates Develops and maintain a good working relationship with local police, other law enforcementagencies and court personnel Compiles, submits, and communicates routine statistical data to the Division Loss Prevention office2as requiredScopeNumber of Associates Supervised: Directly: Indirectly:Financial scopeJob RequirementsRelevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred 20 years of age or older Must have a High School education or equivalent, college degree preferred Subject to a criminal background check, must not have any felony convictions or other convictionsrelating, in any way to work which must be performed under this job description, including, but notlimited to, sexual misconduct, inappropriate activity with a minor, theft, embezzlement, violence or otherfactors that might endanger the Company, its associates, customers, reputation, or assets Ability to read, understand and interpret signs, shelf labels and date codes Ability to follow written and verbal instruction Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, anddivision in order to compile, submit, and communicate routine statistical data to the Division LossPrevention office as required Ability to cooperate and work as a part of a team Ability to learn, understand and apply the information contained in company manuals, loss preventionpolicies and practices and apply them to store operations Ability to handle confrontational situations and respond quickly to incidents as they occur Must possess basic computer skills necessary to send and receive emails, their attachments, and accesscomputer generated reports Night and weekend work is requiredPhysical Environment Most work is conducted in a normal retail setting containing a sales floor, departmental shops, offices andbackrooms May occasionally be exposed to temperatures of approximately -20 Fahrenheit, 28 Fahrenheit, and 35Fahrenheit, while working in freezers, coolers and display cases; temperatures of approximately 150Fahrenheit in hot cases Requires frequent walking and standing, ability to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varyingdimensions and weights up to approximately 55 lbs. May be required to work outdoors when conducting an internal or external surveillance May be exposed to heights, dust/and or airborne particles and limited space areas May be required to travel between store locationsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by the employeesassigned to this job. Compensation

• Pay Range: $38000.00 - $51300.00 Annually ($18.27 - $24.66 Hourly)

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate’s first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI’s commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
