Assembly Technician Position Summary:
40 hour 6am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday 1st shift position.
Assemble different components or parts of semi-finished or finished goods, to deliver a product, which is ready to be sold in the stores or other industries.
Assembly Technician Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, sub assemblies, tools, and materials
- Positioning parts and sub assemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assembling components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub assemblies
- Verifying specifications by measuring completed component
- Working with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Resolving assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
- Mechanical aptitude with basic pneumatic, electric, and hand tools
- Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global
- Completing paperwork/job sheets required for area
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Assembly Technician Requirements:
- Must maintain excellent attendance and posses the flexibility for overtime
- Ability to read blueprints and a knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
- Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow instructions
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
- 2-3 years experience assembly experience
- Sheet metal experience preferred
- Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
- Must show aptitude for math, problem solving and computer skills
- Good color discernment and color vision
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
- High school diploma or GED
Assembly Technician Environmental Conditions:
- Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
- Exposure to loud noise, at times
Assembly Technician Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
