Assembly Department Lead

We are currently adding a new Assembly Department Lead for our growing Roseville, MN location. The Lead is the point of contact for employees who have questions regarding project setup and the operation of department equipment and/or processes in the department. This person must be a hands-on operator and step in to help assemble as needed. The Lead is also responsible for the manufacturing and delivery of parts fabricated from materials such as sheet metal, alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized. Responsibilities

• Lead by example
• Address and resolve problems/issues in a timely manner.
• Clearing the daily dispatch report
• Assigning jobs for the day to each employee, assuring the employee has everything to perform the job.
• Keeping a safe / neat clean organized work area
• To mentor and build a team that meets and or exceeds Lake Air’s Quality and Productivity standards.
• To standardize work practices within the area
• Overall responsibility for quality and productivity of employees assigned.
• Inventory accuracy.

• Comply with the requirements of the ISO Quality Management System and departmental procedures, and work-instructions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of working in a manufacturing environment with department equipment.
• 40 to 50 hours per week, depending on workload is anticipated.   This is a challenging and demanding position and it is crucial to our success. 
• Must have experience working in a job shop environment with sheet metal.
• Excellent knowledge of department equipment and tooling.
• Knowledge of working with different materials such as sheet metal, alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized.
• Reading and following written procedures.
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements.
• Quickly and efficiently completing jobs with very few rejects due to cosmetics.
• Set up and run a job without assistance and with few or no resets
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
• Bend and lift, loading and unloading workpieces into the machine, and move from one workstation to another, alternately sitting and standing
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Perform repetitive work for more than 8 hours per day and on weekends.
• Read the fine print and distinguish colors.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
