Shibaura Machine Company, America has been an Illinois corporation since 1975, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shibaura Machine Co., Ltd., a premier manufacturer of a variety of high-quality industrial machinery including plastic injection molding machines. The principal responsibility of the Assembly Associate is to ensure plastic injection molding machines are assembled and tested with the correct options and features per customer specifications prior to delivery to customer site.
Essential Duties:
- Receive and assess work orders received from the Sales Department.
- Gather all necessary parts and components required to modify a specific machine to match the requirements of a specific work order in accordance with an assembly schedule.
- Physically reassemble injection molding machines in accordance with work orders and schedule requirements, usually at SMA storage facilities, and occasionally at customer facilities or other sites.
- Prepare the completed machine for shipment.
- Re-stock parts and components removed from the machine as a result of the above process.
- Promptly report results to Sales Department.
- Any other duties and tasks, consistent with employee’s abilities, which may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least three years of general mechanical experience.
- Good mechanical coordination and competence, including a working familiarity with a wide variety of tools.
- Good communication skills and the proven ability to work with other employees in a team environment.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
