Assembly and Shipping Technician
CHEMetrics, LLC. located in Midland, VA and a subsidiary of AquaPhoenix Scientific, has an immediate opening for a first shiftAssembly and Shipping Technician. This is a 40 hour-a-week, full-time, hourly position, under the direction of the Assembly Manager.
The Assembly and Shipping Technician plays a critical role in our operations with primary responsibilities to perform repetitive bench tasks to mass-produce water test kit products, to include picking, packing, and Shipping of products. Positions are rotated to provide positive flexibility throughout the workday.
This role will require attention to detail with an ability to inspect product quality prior to packing and ensure product specifications meet production requirements. Products are utilized in the industrial and commercial water treatment industry helping to sustain a cleaner, safer global water supply.
Although not all inclusive, some additional job responsibilities and skills will include:
- Operate and tend to machinery that makes various water test kit components. Ensure products meet specifications.
- Must be able to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions in English and provide constructive feedback as necessary.
- Perform online inspections to ensure parts, assemblies, and components meet product specification and standards.
- Pulls product from Finished Goods shelves as required to fill orders, inspecting products to ensure they meet product specifications.
- Maintain an ability to stand, bend, move, sit, and flex for long periods of time.
- Capacity to remain physically active with the ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist for long periods of time throughout the day to support basic production tasks at various workstations.
- Safely carry, lift, and/or push 25lbs. and on some occasions up to 50lbs., as a team.
- Use UPS/Federal Express software, Microsoft Suite, and company databases.
- Coach, train, and assist as a team helping to meet daily production objectives.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by Company and OSHA standards.
- Demonstrate a positive work ethic and a sense of urgency in completing work assignments.
