- Responsibilities include field and plant sampling and testing to ensure compliance with state specifications, preparing detailed reports for state agencies and customers, and customer relations.
- Obtain samples and perform tests, calculations and inspections of aggregate, asphalt mixtures, and/or concrete mixes, and in place materials.
- Test raw materials and finished asphalt products utilizing hand tools, scales and core drill
- Maintain and update lab SOPs while providing feedback to the lab manager on procedural improvements
- Maintaining testing equipment and ensuring proper calibrations of the equipment
- Tracks yield of construction material (concrete, asphalt, etc.) delivered to the project
- Performing material testing and sampling in accordance with the QCP, QMP, and the owners Inspection and Testing Plan,generating the corresponding reports as outlined in the QCP
- Responsible for examining and documenting materials supplied for construction and generating required inspection reports
- Conduct weekly safety meetings, and ensure all on-site employees comply with OSHA and company standards
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Civil Construction, at least two years of related experience is required
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Must possess or be able to obtain Bituminous Certification & Hot Mix Asphalt Certification
- Preferred Certifications: Concrete Field, Concrete Strength, Aggregate Lab, Aggregate Field, Soils, Nuclear Density, and Profilograph
- Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel
