Asphalt Distributor/ Tack Truck Driver

Halifax Paving, family-owned and operated since 1955, has a proven track record of providing high-quality asphalt and site work services in the Eastern/Northern Central Florida areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Tack Truck Driver to join our asphalt paving team.

This driver safely operates the asphalt distributor truck by applying specialized emulsions to roadways, which are then covered by asphalt. The operator is responsible for filling the tanker with Tack, driving the CDL class tanker and setting the pace for the paving operation.

Responsibilities:

• Operate asphalt distributor truck in designated areas with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
• Sets spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic for application of oil emulsion.
• Consistently monitor temperature of oil and mix.
• Responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment; and is expected to perform servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Must oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Must perform other related duties on the paving crew such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screen extensions, etc.
• Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands. Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees; be a part of the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must possess at least a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement
• Two or more years experience operating an Asphalt Distributor Truck
• Must pass DOT physical/drug screen
• Must be willing to work all shifts, including night shift

Pay will be dependent upon experience. $1000 SIGNING BONUS AFTER 90 DAYS!

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
