About This Role:
The Arts Recreation Specialist is responsible for:
- Acting as a liaison to the Arts Council Board and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
- Assisting with county-wide cultural arts programs and events hosted by the Arts Council.
- Providing budget oversight and management; making recommendations of expenditures, monitoring and approving expenditures.
- Compiling and providing feedback regarding financial data and participation of arts programs and events.
- Utilizing registration software to monitor arts programs and complete program reports as needed.
- Preparing and scheduling all monthly council meetings.
- Maintaining all appropriate records, grant applications, as well as collection of dues and reports.
- Assisting committees in coordinating event details, running demographic report to help with marketing.
- Updating and monitoring the Arts Council website and Facebook page.
- Building customer relationships and working closely with the Arts Council Board.
- Creating and presenting program/grant content to a diverse crowd.
- Preparing grant applications or proposals; implementing and administering grant process related to arts and culture to include application review, workshops and publicity.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of clerical/administrative experience.
Preferences:
- Experience forming partnerships with local artists, arts organizations, businesses, schools, media and other groups.
- Experience researching, identifying, and seeking new and alternative funding sources for public art programs and events.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite, as well as registration and financial software programs.
The Department of Parks and Recreation conducts DMV record checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.
Work Schedule:
This part-time benefitted position will work up to 30 hours a week which includes weekdays with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Starting Salary Range:
$27.46-$32.31 per hour
