Position Summary
This position entails the following category of instruction:
  • Teaching applied songwriting lessons (on an hourly basis);
  • Leading a songwriting/beats lab;
  • Reviewing student portfolios for the Music Education Songwriting and Production program;
  • Potential for teaching in other relevant areas as assigned.

Weekly class meetings are taught onsite at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) Chicago campus, working with students enrolled in the following degree programs:
  • Bachelor of Music;
  • Bachelor of Music-Music Education
This is a part-time position with a cap of 20 total teaching hours per week.

  • Successful retention of students by means of effective and healthy pedagogy.
  • Clear and timely communications.
  • Timely submission of all grades.
  • Consistent usage of Roosevelt University email address (to be assigned upon onboarding).

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds). May be exposed to loud noise from instrument and voice practice rooms on-site.
