Art teacher will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level endorsement K-5 all subjects.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- State teaching license relevant in the field.
- Knowledge of Art best practices.
- Empathy and great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
- Experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a Art teacher will be advantageous.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building collegial relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities while maintaining high academic rigor and expectations for all students
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
- Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession
- Willingness to supervise or direct student activities
- Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.
- Completes all district and state reporting requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary and benefits in accordance with the Master Agreement between the Durand Area Schools Board of Education and the Durand Education Association.
