The Art Studio NY seeks responsible, enthusiastic, committed and experienced art educators to teach fine arts in New York City to students of all ages and levels (total beginners included).

STUDIO MISSION: To transform lives through the power of art.

HOURS: 20-25 hours/ week, 4 days/week, including: Fridays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays after-school/evenings.

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teaching inspiring, engaging art classes to students of all ages (kids and adults)

• Creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all learners

• Providing excellent customer service and taking direction, customizing curriculum that is tailored to each student

• Instructing students throughout the NYC metro area, including community centers, schools, libraries, museums and businesses

• Nurture relationships and develop a student following for classes

• Collaborating with a team of professionals

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years experience teaching in an educational setting

• Proven classroom and conflict management skills

• Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, K-12, Studio Art or Studio Art

• Successful track record teaching a variety of media (drawing, acrylic/oil/watercolor painting, mixed-media, comics)

• Excellence in leadership, communication skills, and command of an audience

• Long term commitment to a team of diverse personalities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
