We are looking for Art Frame Maker & Mirror Production Associates (Full-Time/ Climate Controlled Warehouse)

This is a great opportunity for candidates that enjoy woodworking, carpentry, or picture framing. Prior experience as a glazier, carpenter, or Art Framer, will put you on the top of our list but is by no means a qualification. We offer on-the-job training and mentorship to the right candidate. If you are great with math, possess a positive attitude with a desire to learn, and enjoy working with your hands, we can’t wait to show you the tricks of the trade!

What will you be doing? Working in our fast-paced warehouse, you’ll be hands-on with every aspect of custom frame and Mirror Production. You will be responsible for transforming raw materials into completed projects. This entails accurately reading order sheets, measuring and cutting moulding or glass to the specified size and shape, constructing the Art Frames and mirrors, packaging the finished pieces, and loading them on our trucks for delivery.

The warehouse operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Sat from 7 am to 3:30 pm. Employees are scheduled for 40 hours and work five days (8-hour shifts). Based on operational needs, employees may be required to work overtime. We provide all personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. We contribute towards the cost of medical benefits, offer Life Insurance & AD&D and Short term disability (STD) at a 100% and provide a match of up to 4% for 401(k)*. We pay bi-weekly via direct deposit. We provide complimentary gourmet coffee and snacks for employees.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating glass and mirror cutter (mirror occasionally trimmed by hand)
  • Operating miter saws and frame joiner machine
  • Chopping and joining frame moulding
  • Fitting cut mirrors into frame and attaching hardware
  • Working with power/ hand tools with confidence (i.e., automatic joiner, saw machines, staple guns, air compressor, power drills)
  • Carefully wrapping and logging each completed piece
  • Loading, unloading, and preparing items for delivery
  • Housekeeping of warehouse and building perimeter (sweeping, cleaning equipment, organizing etc.)
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workstation
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Performing other related duties as assigned (within reasonable scope of work)

Work Qualifications:

  • Good fractional math skills
  • Ability to measure to specification (accurately reading a measuring tape and being able to identify the markings is an absolute must, wecannot train for math skills)
  • Strong attention to detail to meet high quality standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers and leadership
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete work quickly, accurately, and safely
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changing business demands and a fast-paced production-based environment
  • Good team player
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Demands/ Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position at the production workstation for the entire duration of the shift
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move around the production areas, distribution center, loading docks etc.
  • Constantly using and operating hand tools and machinery to prepare, construct, place, and position framing projects
  • Constantly positions self and moves to join frames and complete production tasks.
  • Frequently moves moulding, mirrors, and material up to 60 pounds
  • Occasionally operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer keyboard
  • The ability to observe details at close and far range to identify, recognize, inspect and measure
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
