Job Description
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience with integrated pest management scouting. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the various pests common to Southeast Florida's fresh market vegetable crops, citrus, and other crops commonly grown in Florida. They should be familiar with treatment thresholds and be comfortable advising our grower clients on many different crops, including, but not limited to, tomato, pepper, potato, sweet corn, lettuce, cucurbits, citrus, rice, and sugarcane. They will also collaborate with our Research Division, which conducts multiple trial types from start to finish.
Your responsibilities could include:
· Oversee accuracy, documentation, interpretation, and communication of scouting findings;
· Systematic engagement with clients and potential clients;
· Supervision of staff in respective geographic profit centers;
· Facilitate training of staff in conducting scouting and other assigned activities;
· Evaluation of staff;
· Oversee maintenance and care of Company property, including vehicles and equipment;
· Systematic communication (both written and oral) with senior management and staff;
· Oversight of scheduling, routing, and staff assignments;
· Maintain and improve the Company's standards for quality and efficiency of services;
· Foster a spirit of TEAMwork;
· Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including oversight of new employee field training, career development planning, and opportunities;
· Ensure staff achieves and maintains necessary accreditations.
