The Cossatot Area Manager is a key leadership position and is a part of the Arkansas/Oklahoma (AR/OK) Region Lead Team in Weyerhaeuser's Southern Timberlands Business. As Area Manager, you will lead timberlands operations in the Cossatot Area located in Southwest Arkansas and Northwest Louisiana, comprised of approximately 548,000 acres. The Cossatot Area Manager role is located at our Timberlands office near De Queen, AR and reports to the AR/OK Region Manager.
In addition, you will participate in the formation and execution of the roadmap strategies for the region that are aligned with the company's direction. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a passion for leading people, has an innovative mindset to create and extract value, and collaborates with teams committed to achieving Weyerhaeuser's vision and goals.
Key Functions

- Responsible for the Cossatot Area P&L and forecasting
- Collaboration and ultimate responsibility for executing functional strategies
- Monitor and establish area short-term production rate targets for contract operations to ensure delivery of plan in alignment with functional strategies
- Ensure excellence in all harvesting and silviculture contract operations
- Meet customer commitments
- Lead and develop a team of Harvest Managers, Silviculture Foresters, and Wood Flow Managers
- Collaborate across region, area and business lines
- Support functional leads to meet company goals
- Provide leadership of the area and participate in leadership of the AR/OK region, which includes organizational structure, workload alignment, and change management
- Develop, replicate, and execute business best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Forestry or related degree + 8 years' experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 5 years of direct or indirect people leadership experience
- People leadership experience including performance management preferred
- Must be willing to live within a 60-minute commute of the De Queen, AR Office
- Experience in directing the implementation of business plans
- Environmental and safety champion
- Able and willing to develop, communicate and deploy strategic vision and short and long-term plans
- Desire to inspire and lead a diverse team of people to achieve and exceed expectations
- Proven ability to successfully lead initiatives that maximize shareholder value
- Ability to work across organizational/functional boundaries effectively
- Excellent communication, time management and selling/negotiation skills
- Excellent computer skills, including forest management systems and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of and commitment to meeting customer value delivery expectations
- Willing to participate and lead in wildfire suppression activities, which may be after normal working hours or on weekends.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $114,466 - $171,836 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
