Why Work for A&W?
We take pride in what we do, and the food we serve!
To keep the brand in line with its 100 year old roots, A&W not only stands by its slogan: “All American Food,” made fresh to order, it also stays true to the Root Beer recipe, which is until this day made fresh from scratch in each location!!
It all started with a dream when Co-Founder Roy Allen had the great idea to turn a classic sassafras root tea into a cold, creamy Root Beer on a hot day. Beginning with the first Root Beer stand in 1919, Roy Allen himself handed out his first handmade soda during a parade in Lodi, CA, to welcome home returning WWI vets. From that day on, A&W has taken pride in opening over 1,000 locations, while staying deeply connected to the small-town communities that have supported us through out the years.
