DLR Group's Design team has an opening for an Architectural Designer in our new Nashville, TN office. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.

Position Summary

As an Architectural Designer at DLR Group, you will collaborate with our cross-functional design teams to develop designs from conception through design development, prepare construction documents, specifications, team coordination, and support the project team through construction administration for a variety of project types and sizes. As part of our integrated design teams, you will create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

The successful candidate will:

• Engage in studio culture and the local community.
• Participate in all project phases, from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Present ideas and design solutions visually and verbally in a collaborative team environment, as well as self-manage and self-motivate.
• Collaborate with team members, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction documents.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
• 3-5 years of professional experience in a commercial architecture firm
• Proficiency with computer drawing, modeling, and rendering software; Revit and SketchUp are preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
• Positive and entrepreneurial spirit underlined by a strong work ethic
• Desire to continually learn, grow, and pursue design excellence in a fun environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skilled in hand drawing techniques that communicate visually
• A demonstrated interest in sustainable building design
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, such as Grasshopper
• Proficiency with visualization software, such as Lumion or Enscape
• Knowledge of QA/QC process and building codes
