YOUR ROLE:
As anArchitect I, you will work under the supervision and mentorship of senior staff to develop design concepts and create accurate and complete documentation in all phases within the established design principles, project budget and schedule. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team, providing technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Prepare building models and detailed contract documents.
- Participate in the development of project specifications and their coordination with the drawings.
- Attend site-visits and meetings expedite construction and help resolve any issues encountered in the field such as unforeseen conditions, code related issues, and interpretation of construction documents. in order to
- Communicate and coordinate with all disciplines, consultants, and contractors to ensure adherence to the contract documents and provide support as necessary. vendors
- Ensure that your contribution to construction documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards established by senior staff.
- Utilize and encourage best use of design software/technology for presentation and production purposes, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and SpecLink.
- Work with senior staff to review and establish the budget for your hours and ability to meet project schedules.
- Mentor and support the work of less experienced staff, including Architectural Student Interns and Graduate Architects.
- Engage with client representatives and leadership regarding your area of expertise.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Your Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure. Master's Degree in Architecture preferred.
- Your Licensure:
- Licensed architect with current license.
- NCARB registration and AIA membership preferred.
- CSI-CDT certification preferred.
- LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification preferred.
- Your Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of architectural experience.
- Experience in the following:
- Maintaining knowledge of the architectural design and documentation process, trends in the design and construction industries, construction methodology, sustainability, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
- Utilizing knowledge of sustainability and other trends in the design/construction industry.
- Participating in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
- Researching and maintaining knowledge of building codes and applying into technical documents.
- Coordinating and integrating work with consultants, designers, engineers, construction administrators, and other members of a project team.
- Your Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Revit required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required. Experience in Project, SharePoint, and Teams preferred.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and BSD Spec Link preferred.
