TheAquaticsSupervisorpositionis an integral part of the camper's visit, providing an experience beyond all expectations. You will execute and support all aspects ofthe aquatic program including overall activities,appropriate use of facilities, repair/maintenance,and staff/camper schedules.The goal is to ensure ahigh levelentertainment during each activity, and make surestaff andparticipants are engaged and participating in a responsible and safe manner.TheAquatics Supervisor will be responsible foroversite ofthe safetyand cleanliness of theaquaticsfacilities around camp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Overall
    • Maintain water quality records up to the standards set by the PA Department of Health and Agriculture
    • Ensure the safety of theaquatic facilitiesby testing and adding chemicals as needed
    • Maintains Woodward safety logs, operationalsheetsand incident logs
    • Help facilitate guest sign ups and schedules and assist with guest requests and needs in a timely manner
    • Support storytelling, social and content ideas for aquatics
    • Ensure all inventory needs are met for supplies and equipment
  • Passionate People
    • Assist in recruiting new and returning staff
    • Train and develop Lifeguards ensuring safety and guest experience are executed to Woodward standards
    • Ensure each Lifeguardposition can demonstrate appropriate skills uponcompletion of training
    • Develop Lifeguard schedules and communicate appropriately
    • Lead weekly meetings to discuss currenttopicsand safetytopics
    • Review and monitor evaluations and observation reportsforLifeguards
    • Knowledgeable in working with and engaging youth ages 7-17
  • Facilities and Equipment
    • Execute daily maintenance and perform weekly and monthly checks for all aquatic facilities and equipment
    • Attend the safety and maintenance needs for all aquatic facilities and equipment
    • Maintain an organized and safe environmentfor guestsandstaff
    • Carry out and support all aquatic operations/maintenance needs including but not limited to:
      • (2) Swimming Pools
      • (1) Hot Tub
      • (1) Lake Facility
    • Keep detailed records for all projects and maintenance schedules
    • Providea feedback report toevaluate, evolve, and elevateall facilities and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 

Requirements
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Experience
    • Must have 2+ years of experience working with Water Chemistry.
    • Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
    • High school degree or equivalent preferred
    • Ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team
  • Aquatics Industry Certifications (or ability to obtain)
    • Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator
    • PA Pesticide Applicator with category 24
    • Certified Lifeguard
  • Health and Safety Certifications
  • Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
  • Is creative. Can conceptualize ideas. Can think"outside the box".Has the ability to implement ideas.
 
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
  • As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations,and guidelines
  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor all-season environment.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings year-round:
    • On-site workattendanceat Woodward PA
      • Summer Camp Season (June 4th - August 26th)
      • Preferred 12-week commitment withinSummercamp season
  • Lodging & Food (3 daily meals and staff housing will be provided during employment)
  • Provide work related references upon request
