SMX is seeking an Approved Products List (APL) Manager to support GISA at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. The successful candidate will have experience working as an APL Manager on large Department of Defense contracts and leading a team of other cyber security professionals in support of project and client goals and objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain clear and well-defined criteria for including or excluding products on the APL.
- Consider quality, safety, performance, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and review hardware and software products submitted for inclusion on the APL. This may involve product testing, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all Products Listed on the APL, including specifications, test reports, compliance certificates, and related documentation.
- Periodically review and update the APL to ensure it remains current and that new products meeting criteria are added while outdated or non-compliant products are removed.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including procurement, engineering, and project teams, to ensure awareness of the APL and encourage the use of Approved Products.
- Address any issues or disputes related to product inclusion or exclusion on the APL, working to find satisfactory resolutions for all parties involved.
- Continuously monitor and ensure that all Products Listed on the APL meet the required industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors regarding the use of the APL and the importance of using Approved Products.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of the APL, including updates, additions, removals, and any compliance or quality issues. Analyze the performance and effectiveness of the APL.
- Conduct supply chain risk reviews as required and make recommendations for APL inclusions and exclusions based on risk.
- Assist security control assessors with product testing as required.
Required Skills, Education & Experience
- Required clearance: TS/SCI and NATO read-on prior to starting work.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, supply chain management, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, such as procurement, quality assurance, or product management.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and standards within the relevant industry is often essential.
- An in-depth understanding of industry-specific product standards, compliance requirements, and quality assurance processes related to the products included in the APL.
- Strong project management skills to oversee the regular review, update, and maintenance of the APL, as well as the ability to manage product assessments.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to resolve disputes and foster positive relationships.
