Position Summary:This position is funded through March 2026, after which time the college may or may not choose to renew it.
Position Summary
This position engages in outreach and recruiting for the apprenticeship functions of the Teaching Learning, and Student Support Team. The Apprenticeship Recruiter supports the work of the Internship, Apprenticeship, and Digital Badge Coordinator to recruit students into apprenticeship and engage employers to hire students as Registered Apprentices. This position must work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Develop pools of registered employers for the creation of new apprenticeship occupations and recruit additional registered employers for existing occupations approved through the Maryland Department of Labor.2. In the first three years, develop the Hospitality Management Apprenticeship pathway, creating a pipeline to an associate degree and a management level position for individuals employed within the hospitality industry.3. Serve as the primary point of contact for employers in assigned occupations.4. Collaborate with the FCC Marketing team to develop, disseminate, and update compelling employer and student recruiting materials, including video, social media, and website.5. Support apprenticeship development for assigned occupations in coordination with the Internship, Apprenticeship, and Digital Badge Coordinator and the Maryland State Navigator, Program Manager, and registered employers.6. Conduct student program orientations to review workbook parameters, eligibility requirements, course requirements, and general guidelines.7. Ensure student adherence to state apprenticeship standards and recordkeeping requirements.8. Assist the Internship, Apprenticeship, and Digital Badge Coordinator in advising students with program application, enrollment processes, and required record keeping as needed.9. Prepare and submit reports based on documentation needed or required for workplace experiences.10. Represent the College at career fairs and other events for the purpose of recruiting apprentices and employers.11. Design and develop brochures, fliers, and general informational materials to promote the program.12. Participate and attend all Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings for programs with Registered Apprenticeships.14. Perform other duties as assigned.
1. Associate degree2. Five (5) years successful leadership experience in a business, educational, or nonprofit organization3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree2. Completion of a Registered Apprenticeship program3. Experience as an employer sponsor of Registered Apprenticeship4. Experience in sales or marketing5. Experience developing business and industry partnerships to support education6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
